Mansions on George

Mansions on George Condominiums are located in the heart of downtown Cobourg. The Victorian Heritage Town Hall – Victoria Hall is one block north of the Beach and Harbour/Marina and our condominiums are 50 yards further North up George Street. Mansions on George occupies the site of the former Thomas Gillbard School, originally built in 1906 as the Central School for the whole town of Cobourg.

The former Gillbard School playing fields to rear and West of the Main School will be known as Mansions on James and contain 36 new built suites. 

The Builder 1573454 Ontario Ltd. is tying many of the original Architectural features  The Town of Cobourg is very concerned with Heritage Architectural features so as not to intrude on the everlasting Victorian look of the community.

Mansions on George has 35 magnificent units most with 10 ft. ceilings, many with exposed Brick walls. MOG truly is a mansion with extensive common areas on the 4th floor and throughout the building including a roof top patio.
Mansions on James will use many of the existing common area and the suites will consist of 1,300 to 1,500 square feet of accommodation. They also have access to the Roof Top patio at Mansions on George and the use of the Common Area facilities on their fourth Floor. MOG/MOJ are 4 blocks from Cobourg harbour on Lake Ontario which has seen considerable change in the last few decades, moving from a working port to a tourist attraction. With excellent transportation links, VIA Rail (a short walk away), Highway 401, GO Train service is coming to Bowmanville. Cobourg has a growing economy with a relaxed atmosphere.

Cobourg is becoming the equivalent of ‘‘Niagara on the Lake’’ in South Central Eastern Ontario. Only one hour from Toronto by either road via the 407/401 or VIA Rail. With many Golf courses, a Harbour/Marina, a beautiful sandy Beach and a spectacular heritage downtown these are just a few of the special attractions of Cobourg and Northumberland County.
